Save the date: High Holiday Services will be held in Parish Hall in 2026 (5787). Rosh Hashanah will be September 12 and Yom Kippur on September 21. Both will be broadcast on Facebook for those unable to attend in person. While both services are free, tickets are required so that we may make appropriate seating arrangements. Order tickets at the above links. If you wish to become a member, a link to do so shall be provided in your ticket receipt via Email.
Past Events
Rosh Hashanah 5786
Services were held in Parish Hall on September 12 and led by David Hastings. We used the new prayer books for the first time. Food was provided by the Sisterhood. If you were unable to attend and missed our live broadcast, you can view it here until October 23.
Sukkot
Led by our architect Zoe Hastings a Sukkot was constructed in her backyard. Joined by many young construction workers they finished building the Sukkah in time to celebrate and have a good time. Even their pets joined in. Thanks Zoe.
High Holidays
Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur were held at Andover Town Hall on October 1 and October 12, respectively. Streamed on Facebook, they can be viewed here and here.
Pride Shabbat
Led by our Social Action Committee, Havurat Shalom planned our second annual Pride Shabbat, which was held at the beautiful Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in North Andover on June 7th. We celebrated Shabbat that evening with traditional and modern blessings, old friends and new, fellowship and family, soulful music, and so much Pride. Our service was made all the more memorable as the service was led by our spiritual leader, Rabbi Karen Landy.

Dr. Lawrence Jay of Rolling Ridge
This service was an interfaith one, and we were blessed to have Reverend Renee Manning, host Reverend Lawrence Jay of Rolling Ridge, Reverend Genevieve Hosterman, and Reverend Adam Randazzo reading remarks and sharing their own experiences of what Pride means to them. We were also joined by a speaker from Keshet, Ozzy Gold-Shapiro, who spoke about Keshet’s role in the historical movement for LGBTQ+ rights and the work that remains to be done. They even led us in a song in Yiddish!

Passover
Over 40 congregants, family and friends gathered for our Second Night Seder-our first significant gathering post covid. It was great to renew friendships and meet new people. Our Seder started with a candle lighting at a table set aside in support of the hostages. Attendees
read from our Haggadah and passages from the Passover conversation provided by Rabbi Karen. We had a traditional Passover seder-wine, matzo, matzo ball soup, a catered dinner, and a wide assortment of desserts. Almost forgot, Ben’s famous horse radish.
In these troubled times it was comforting to come together as a community. Many thanks to Jackie Dick, Hillary Canner and Lois Jacobs for all their efforts to organize and “make it happen”.
Also, a big thank you to the many individuals that made matzo ball soup, brought desserts and helped with the set-up and clean-up. All in all, a wonderful group effort.
